OEM Coordinator warns about FEMA Scammers October 18, 2021 It has come to the attention of the Office of Emergency Management that there are scammers identifying themselves as FEMA representatives and are trying to reach out to you regarding the recent flood. The Mine Hill Emergency Coordinator has confirmed with the County that these are in fact scammers and do not engage with them or give out any personal information. One example of a text that has come through is an individual identifying themselves as Corrie Pope as a “contract inspector for FEMA” trying to schedule an appointment. The phone number they gave was (214) 810-6835. If you have received this text or call from this person, they are a scammer. The Emergency Management Coordinator has alerted the Office Emergency Management on the County and State Level to relay this information to FEMA directly.
