Food Pantry


The Township Food Pantry accepts donations of non-perishable food items and other necessities year round for use by our residents in need.  Donations can be made at any time that Town Hall is open.  For more information on donating, or if you or someone you know could benefit from this service, Ms. Wild  can be contacted confidentially at 973-366-9031 ext. 6.  The food pantry is open Mondays from 12:00 Noon to 4 PM, and is available for Mine Hill Residents only.

Suggested Donation Items:

Cereal / Instant Oatmeal
Peanut Butter
Jam/Jelly
Rice
Pasta
Pasta Sauce
Canned Beans (black beans, chick peas, etc)
Canned Fruits and Veggies
Canned or Instant Soups
Canned Tuna, Salmon and Chicken
Juice (boxes or bottles)

Toilet Paper
Toothpaste
Shampoo/Conditioner/Soap
Diapers

The Township also accepts ShopRite gift cards to distribute to residents in need so that they can purchase necessary perishable items such as meats.

When we have space available, we are happy to accept frozen Turkey, Chicken and Ham – please call ahead before bringing a perishable donation to ensure that space is available to store these items.

Holiday Care Packages for Residents in Need

The Township coordinates collections for the following gifts to our residents in need:

Dinner Baskets (Thanksgiving and December for the Holidays)
The Township accepts monetary donations and/or food donations to assemble Thanksgiving meals for families in need.  Non-perishable items can be delivered to the Food Pantry at any time.  Please contact Ms. Wild to arrange for the donation of perishable holiday items such as Turkey, Chicken or Ham.

Holiday Gift Donation

The Township in a partnership with the Canfield Avenue School’s Angel Program is looking for sponsors to help a families in town that are unable to afford gifts for their children during the Holidays.  To adopt a family for the holidays please feel free to contact Ms. Wild at (973) 366-9031 x 6
