The Municipal Clerk’s Office licenses the following activities:
Alcoholic Beverage Licenses The Township licenses Alcoholic Beverage Retailers in accordance with State regulations and procedures, including an annual review and renewal process. Food Handler’s Licenses The Township licenses retail food handlers on an annual basis, subject to review and inspection by the Roxbury Health Department. The following establishments are currently licensed within the Township:
Bagels on the Hill Bally Dar Buy Wise Market Cinders Wood Fire Grill Dunkin Donuts L&L Package Store, Inc. Mine Hill Spartan Morgan’s Tavern New Jersey Bar & Grill Rest-a-Bit Tavern Roma Italian Deli Toscana Pizza
The Township also licenses establishments that serve food to our children, namely the Canfield Avenue School and ABC Growing Tree, and organizations that serve food at events, including the Mine Hill American Legion, Mine Hill Township Fire Department and First Aid Squad.
Organizations may apply for “day” permits to serve food at fund raisers and other events. An application form must be turned in to the Municipal Clerk’s Office at least two weeks in advance of the event. Volunteer organizations may request a waiver of the application fee, which may be granted by Resolution of the Township Council (early application is appreciated if requesting a waiver). All licensed events are subject to inspection by Roxbury Health Department.
Garage Sale Permits Garage Sale Permits may be purchased from the Municipal Clerk’s Office for a fee of $2 per permit. One permit may be used for up to 4 consecutive days of sale. Please visit the Municipal Clerk’s Office to apply. For sales being held at rented properties, written permission of the property owner is required at the time of application. Sales conducted without the proper permit may be subject penalties.
Legalized Games of Chance Licenses The Township licenses Legalized Games of Chance (Raffles, Tricky Trays, Bingo) in accordance with State regulations. Please visit www.state.nj.us/lps/ca/lgccc for more information and application forms.
Rental Property Registration The Township registers Residential Rental Properties. It is the landlord’s responsibility to register their property and advise the Township of each change in tenancy. Registration applications should be submitted to Ms. Blouse with the appropriate fee.
